ESE President Elio D’Anna meets with students at Florence Campus

Elio D'anna Meeting with Students

President of the European School of Economics,  Mr. Elio D’Anna  hosted an open discussion titled Worldwide environmental, political, economic problems? You “yourself” are the answer at the schools Florence location. This provided a unique opportunity for students to meet the President in person and discuss the school and its philosophy in more detail with its founder. This discussion also outlined topics from President D’Anna’s most recent novel, The School of Gods and gave students an opportunity to present questions about their own path to success.

D’Anna opened this lecture asking for a brief moment of silence. A chance for self observation and reflection. “Silence is the very cause of all and everything.” He explained. If action speaks louder than words, then silence can be a loud statement. Everything in this world should be understood relatively and so should silence.  Silence plays an integral part in human nature, leadership, philosophies and discourse. We express ourselves through languages made up with words, grammatical structures and even body language. And, when we exhaust visible or audible mediums, we use silence to complete it.

Being a leader means embracing silence, understanding how to constantly reinvent oneself and knowing ones inner world within the world. D’Anna references The School for Gods, an important part of his novel that this is the School for Creators.  “I am here just to remind you that you can be successful in life  and win all the battles challenges you meet if you understand that the world outside yourself is just a a reflection of what you are.  I will remind you very often this sentence:  The world is as it is because we are as we are.” The lecture explains that each individual person, has a unique role to play in life and how to go about defining ones particular role and embracing the dreaming world.  This is essentially the work of identifying one’s unique abilities, talents, interests, emotional make-up, etc. which are the “tools” bestowed on each person.  The combination of these tools define each person’s particular activity and therefore his or her path.

This is the path, the dreaming world that D’Anna hopes to show all his students at ESE.

D’Anna then opened the floor for questions where students asked D’Anna his thoughts on subjects ranging from imprinting, handling fear and doubt to self reflection and natural disasters. D’Anna gave enlightening detailed responses to each question, explaining to one student “Fear is the very cause of what we are afraid of.” He referenced a time where he met Donald Trump and a slogan he recommended during his Presidential campaign

“Win it before it happens.  We are projections of our own being. First we create fear, the fear will appear, we create a mentality of success, we will win the battle’.

While saying his farewells to the students, he told them “write down this quote – we will talk about this in a few years…

‘’All comes from within. If you realize this all fears will come to an end. And when fears are gone everything go right, and the entire world will recognize your inner integrity and fearlessness”.
